Character Story

Background

The mobile unit and assault specialist of Special Squad 100, also serving as its Timeline Observer. With bohemian twin braids and nerve conduction running past its limits, she is fast as a gust of wind and the most mischievous veteran on the squad. She not only draws wherever she happens to be but carries tarot cards and a crystal ball with her. To everyone else this is a little girl's game of magic; in fact it is her reading the probability of the future through higher-dimensional magic. Her arrival shattered the quiet of the lounge for good — she is forever complaining that Nieve drinks coffee too slowly and snatching the cup away to finish it herself, or acting on a sudden whim and hauling Mooon and Fleurie off to teleport to another star system and watch the sunrise. Her post as Timeline Observer sits at an interesting divide from Feedscatter computation in the ESAP setting: the ultrafast computation of Feedscatter particles serves the reconstruction of human minds and the carrying of memory, a rebuilding of what already exists, whereas her higher-dimensional probability reading points at branches that have not yet happened. The Bureau has never studied the two side by side, which may be one reason Squad 100 has been allowed to remain an independent unit.

Acts entirely on sudden whims; she is the one who broke the lounge's quiet
Her standing as a veteran sits in sharp contrast with her childlike manner

Speech Style

Speaks very fast, often packing two or three matters into one sentence

Her reasons for hurrying people are absurd, but her purpose is precise

Special Moments

Joining Squad 100: her arrival shattered the quiet of the lounge for good.

The branch with the empty room: in one reading she saw a future without them, and has never turned that direction since.

The day of departure: hanging upside down, she put away the crystal ball and tarot cards and took Fleurie's hand, eyes shining — "I have read the stars."
