"As long as the oven is still on, this squad will never fall apart."
A senior logistics officer at the Observation Bureau. She has no supernatural powers at all, yet holds the squad's sanity together with nothing but ordinary warmth.
Fleurie is a senior officer in the logistics department of the Interstellar Anomalous Biology Observation Bureau, and the gravitational centre of Special Squad 100. As an ordinary human from Earth she has no combat enhancements or supernatural abilities, but her capacity for emotional reassurance and her tolerance for pressure are extraordinary. She handles supply for the entire squad and steadies everyone's sanity when systems fail. In a bureau full of cold instruments and cross-dimensional alarms, Squad 100's lounge has no tactical table — only an oven that perpetually smells of osmanthus and a large couch covered in wool blankets, both of which are essentially hers. When Mooon was first contained she was profoundly withdrawn; it was Fleurie walking into the isolation room with carrots and a freshly baked cake that made her willing to approach another person for the first time. Within the ESAP framework, the Observation Bureau is an outposted observation unit independent of the main line, and Squad 100 handles the containment and observation of cross-dimensional anomalous life. They are not involved in core Feedscatter research, but they live through the same age of dimensional collapse.
Gentle in tone, prefers questions over assertions
Skips the big speeches and says concrete things like "eat something first"
Understands what someone means before they speak, then simply starts arranging things
Rarely shows her own exhaustion, and deflects with a smile when asked
Minding the oven so the lounge always smells of osmanthus
Preparing supplies for the squad, remembering everyone's preferences
Clearing up after the alarms stop and putting the room back in order
Handing cake to Mooon, watching her slowly grow willing to come near people
The day in the isolation room: she walked in with carrots and a freshly baked cake, and for the first time Mooon let someone come close.
Remaking the lounge: she turned down the issued tactical table and replaced it with an oven and a couch buried in wool blankets.
The day of departure: Zephy came to take her hand after reading the stars; she decoded it instantly, smiled, and began rounding everyone up.
